The Boston Chapter of the Baseball Writers' Assocation of America (Or as it's more commonly known the BBWAA) is proud to announce the first of their awards for the Jan. 8 dinner to be held at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston.

The first few awards are:

Red Sox Fireman of the Year: Jonathan Papelbon

Baseball Executive of the Year: Andrew Friedman, Tampa Bay Rays

Baseball Manager of the Year: Joe Maddon, Tampa Bay Rays
 
The awards will be presented at the 70th Annual Awards Dinner of the Boston Chapter of the BBWAA on Jan. 8, 2009, at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston. Tickets for the event will be sold at $150 each and may be purchased by sending a check to PO Box 7346, Nashua NH, 03060.

More Awards will be announced as the date of the BBWAA dinner approaches in January.
