A few random sips from the bottom of the coffee cup

Greetings from the blogosphere...writing this as I'm wondering why there wasn't any kind of creative chant thrown at Barry Bonds during his first visit to the Fens. C'mon Red Sox Nation...you're better than that.
--According to David Ortiz (and I have admittedly not gotten a chance to fact check this yet), Benjie Molina has been the catcher behind the plate the last three times that Big Papi has been ejected from a ballgame.
Molina most definitely catcher behind the plate when Ortiz threw his infamous nutty in Anaheim in July of 2004 that included Terry Francona being physically bumped by Ortiz into umpire Matt Hollowell and Papi throwing bats onto the field after his ejection. Not sure there's a connection there, but it's interesting nontheless. Thanks to Hacks' friend Jess Camarato for supplying that one.
--Congrats to Red Sox clubhouse attendant Steve Murphy, who worked Saturday morning and afternoon, got married Saturday night and then was back up at Fenway Park for work this morning bright and early. Murphy worked until 2 pm yesterday afternoon and was married to the former Susan Beals at St. Dorothy's Church right on Rte. 38 in Wilmington before a fine reception at the Burlington Marriott.
Then Murphy, who was a former assistant coach on the Woburn High boys basketball team, was sweating out the remnants of last night's open bar as he lugged equipment inside the Sox clubhouse this morning. Nothing better than guy dedicated to his work and an understanding wife that's okayed one final day of work before their honeymoon.
--Second baseman Dustin Pedroia is a lifelong San Francisco Giants fan and has clearly been enjoying playing against his childhood team at Fenway Park. Pedroia hit a two-run homer in his first at bat, became the first Sox rookie since the Dauber (Brian Daubach for those not in the know) in 1999 to collect five hits in a game and got quite a thrill the first time Barry Bonds came to the plate.
“It’s a pretty big thrill playing against the Giants,” said Pedroia. “I grew up watching them and then the first time [Bonds] got up I saw that waggle he has in the batter’s box from my [shifted] spot in right field and I thought to myself ‘damn…that’s Barry Bonds."
